Last weekend I treated myself to a total of 12 hours of inky fun and took 3 art journaling classes wih Dyan Reaveley who was visiting the Scrappers Playground on Long Island. These classes were exactly what I needed to get some time away from the stresses of school and wedding planning! If you've never taken a class with Dyan I highly recommend it - she's an absolute riot and loads of fun! Here's a photo of Dyan so you can see for yourself how fun and crazy she is!
Yes, that's a mustache tattoo on her lip (it's a rub on, don't worry!)
Dyan gifted everyone taking the classes with one of her fabulous Dylusions Journals - a must have! We started each class by randomly spritzing some pages with ink, ripping whole and partial pages from the journal, and spraying our neighbor's journal - all to get over that "I've got a pretty brand spankin' new journal" feeling of being afraid to muck up a page. It was painless and fun!
So I thought I'd show you photos of a bunch of pages from the journal that we started in the classes and have been working on all week since. Some pages are more complete than others and all are still in progress. Many are simply mop-up pages (pages used to clean off stencils and stamps but will be the first layer of future pages) that look really cool already. Enjoy the photos - I'm certainly enjoying creating in my journal!
