Greetings!! I have a goal this year to enter every single Lawnscaping Challenge! So far, I'm 2/2 - yay! This challenge is a bit different than normal - we've been requested to make a card inspired by any of the Lawnscaping Design Team members.
Part of the reason I've waited until the last minute to make my card is that it was so hard to decide which design team member to choose - they're all so great and so different. In the end, I decided that since Yainea's cards have always inspired and amazed me, I'd try to create something in Yainea's style (I hope I succeeded!)
While more closely examining Yainea's cards, I noticed that she's a master with layers and embellishments! (Check out this card and this card.) Her layering is fantastic and looks effortless.
Yainea also often creates her own backgrounds with stamps and mixes those in with her patterned papers (as in this card.)
She also uses circle cutouts in a lot of her cards, whether using the open circle as a window (as in this card and this card) or using the circle as a backdrop to highlight an image (as in this card.)
Yainea almost always uses some kind of ribbon or twine, with or without a button (as in this card) and, in many of her cards you'll notice that Yainea likes to cut out her images and pop them up to create additional dimension and layer.
Needless to say, there are so many elements of Yainea's cards that pique my interest, and these above are only some examples of the fabulous techniques she uses, and it was these examples combined that I used as inspiration for my card.
Here's the card I came up with! I was excited to use the new Science of Love set with those cute little birds! So cute!!!
