I had my first Doctoral recital at school on Tuesday (it was supposed to be at the end of October, but Hurricane Sandy came instead) and I wanted to do something nice to thank all of my friends at school who were generous enough to perform on my recital. (By the way, the recital went awesome - I was very pleased!) So I got out the new Paper Smooches set, Cyber Cafe, and got busy making cards to accompany the Stabucks gift certificates I got for everyone. This stamp set was PERFECT for that! I even used some Colorbox ink in the shade of brown called Espresso.
Oh, and I thought I'd share a piece from my recital, for anyone who might be interested in hearing some flute music! This is the Nocturne et Allegro Scherzando by Gaubert, a French composer:
And here's the thank you card I made for everyone, this was super easy to reproduce. I made nine of them to give out, plus a few extras for future coffee-giving occasions.
I cut slits with my xacto knife inside to attach the gift card:
I love how the coffee beans stamped on the craft - not always with the same amount of pigment. I think it had to do with the pressure I used on the stamp, but I think it came out looking so cool. I purposefully went with an all brown color scheme to keep the cards gender neutral. The brown dotted paper is from Lilybee design's Autumn Spice 6x6 paper pad.
Card turned out great and the piece sounds wonderful. :)
Love ya!

Wow, such a wonderful play Lisa! It's like a cd that I'm listening to, so cool to know it's you! And I love how the gift card turned out, I don't mind about the difference on the inked beans, I just love that. And if it turned out a little bit different than you had in mind, just shout HAND MADE!;)
Oh and you asked if I used real cork or pp on my card, it's patterned paper!
